During the pandemic and the months prior, social distancing had a huge impact on how people socialise with one another.
So huge, that even after the government measures loosened up, you might find yourself being uncomfortable when surrounded by masses of people. The solution: social distancing furniture.

I came up with a design that not only fulfils the need of social distancing, but also blends adequately into the surroundings.
The triangle shape can be rotated to maximise the space.
Lastly, the hole left by the structure of the seats can be used to store handbags, backpacks.
The materials used for this design allow to be manufactured efficiently and built easily.
They are swiftly combined to form a linear composition where the environment can be seen through the pieces, either than being covered or hidden.
The industrial design and the color palette highlights the rawness of the building materials used like concrete, metal pipes and reclaimed wood. They are left uncovered and become design elements.
This design allows users to move sideways thanks to the rails built into the floors. Thanks to it´s modularity, it can be assembled with the desired amount.
Also, having the backrest in the middle allows people to sit down in either side.
